A BILL

To provide for the continued applicability of the requirements of the ABM Treaty to the United States.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. CODIFICATION OF ABM TREATY REQUIREMENTS.

    (a) CODIFICATION- Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the requirements contained in Articles I through XII of the ABM Treaty (as in force with respect to the United States on June 12, 2002) shall continue to apply with respect to the United States beginning on and after the date of the enactment of this Act.

    (b) DEFINITION- In this section, the term `ABM Treaty' means the Treaty Between the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on the Limitation of Anti-Ballistic Missile Systems, signed at Moscow on May 26, 1972 (23 UST 3435), and includes the Protocol to that Treaty, signed at Moscow on July 3, 1974 (27 UST 1645).
