Protest in Seattle, Washington

October 14 2000

From: Ben Adrian [adrianbl@whitman.edu]

Around 11 we started meeting at CAN (community action network) offices in downtown Seattle. approximately noon we moved the missile, we had a life sized Trident inflateable missile with us, and began inflating it. As soon as we did this, a police car drove up and asked for info. They followed us for a while on bikes, but never bothered us again.

We then proceeded to walk around downtown Seattle, right through Pikes Place Market, and down onto the wharf. We attracted a lot of attention and handed out many, many, flyers. on each side of the missile we had a banner. on one side it read "Boeing = death" and "No weapons in space". on the other, a skull and crossbones.
