Report from Colorado Springs

8 October 2005

Basically, the theme in Colorado was Stop the War CRIME (Colorado Religious Industrial Military Educational) complex.  We did a Saturday Oct. 1 demo at Buckley AFB in Denver and surrounding contractors, with the theme of Dr. Seuss's Butter Battle.  We had a bannering at New Life Church on Sunday the 2nd, a bannering at Schriever AFB on Monday, one at the under-construction SI International corporate building on Wednesday, a bannering at Catholic Church on Thursday, and a closing rally at University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) on Saturday.

The UCCS rally was important because UCCS has several new contracts with AF Space Command and with Department of Homeland Security.  It is also participating in a new bid with Lockheed Martin and the University of Texas to take over the national weapons labs work from Univ. of California and Bechtel.  On Sept. 30, the University faculty had a forum where Bill Sulzman talked and profs and students commented on the DoE and AF Space Command contracts.

Donna Johnson and I took lots of interesting photos and if we ever get our act together, we'll get a collage together for the GN Web site!
